Houston's kids are the future stewards of Texas's natural heritage. More and more of our children are growing up in Texas's cities. In about a generation, around the year 2035, nearly 90 percent of our state's population will be urban.

Let's start now! Start engaging children, parents and the educators. SLSP's Environmental Learning Center (ELC) is about bringing kids and their natural history together.

The more our students learn about nature where they can touch, see and feel it the more they love, respect and want to protect it.

Many teachers, parents and students would love a trip to SLSP's ELC. Not all school's have the resources to allow their students to take a trip to SLSP to catch a first fish, see an alligator and turn a passion vine leaf over and find a caterpillar.

FOSL's Fund for Unlimited Environmental Learning (FUEL) helps:

• Pay for the buses, gas and drivers.
• Provide lunches and snacks for the kids and volunteers.

• Insures ELC staff can meet the changing needs of educating our students.
